The Indlulamithi SA Scenarios 2030 project is saddened by the passing of Dr Vuyokazi Mahlati, and extends condolences to her family and friends.
Dr Vuyokazi Mahlati was a highly regarded member of the Indlulamithi Leadership Group which she joined in 2017 when the initiative was conceptualised. Over the last three years, she played an active role in shaping the country’s 2030 scenarios, driving national dialogue around social cohesion, aligning Indlulamithi’s vision to the National Development Plan (NDP), while bringing her passion for land reform to the fore.
“Dr Vuyokazi Mahlati was a remarkable development planning specialist, who wanted the best for her country and its people. She played an integral role in shaping the concept of the Indlulamithi scenarios and implementing the project,” says Indlulamithi project founder Dr Somadoda Fikeni. “She was a powerhouse with an unshakeable vision to drive social change. This is a big loss for Indlulamithi and South Africa, but her legacy lives on in the work she did and change she affected.”
